Meet the Creator — R Sreelaxmi Anish
Every magical world begins with a dreamer. Behind Yosippaya stands R Sreelaxmi Anish, a storyteller, a dream-builder, and above all, someone who believes that children’s imagination is the strongest superpower in the world.
With her background in English Literature (B.A. & M.A.) and years of experience in creative writing, storytelling, and content creation, Sreelaxmi has always been in love with words. Her stories have touched thousands of readers.
But for her, stories have never been “just stories.” They are seeds of imagination, little sparks that grow into confidence, creativity, and joy.
“I cannot travel the whole world, so I am creating a world of my own.”
— R Sreelaxmi Anish
The Spark That Started It All
When she was in the 8th standard, Sreelaxmi came up with a story so vivid it felt like her own secret universe. But without encouragement, the story was left unfinished. Back then, storytelling was brushed aside as a “hobby,” and slowly, her spark dimmed. That uncompleted story still lingers, a quiet reminder of how fragile imagination can be if it isn’t nurtured.
Years later, the spark came to her through her niece. Sri Nakshatra, lovingly called Nakshu, brought the joy of imagination back.
One day, Sreelaxmi’s mother shared a video of little Nakshu flipping through a picture book of The Ant and the Grasshopper. At just three years old, Nakshu couldn’t read. But she created her own story from the pictures:
“The grasshopper woke up happily in the morning. Since there was no bathroom in the house, it wanted to bathe. So it went to the pond to swim!”
It was such a simple moment. Yet it felt profound. Nakshu wasn’t repeating. She wasn’t reciting. She was imagining. And that’s when it struck Sree: She had once been that child, full of stories but no one had preserved them. She couldn’t let the next generation lose theirs.
On that day, Yosippaya was born. Because now, she was no longer just the child with unfinished stories. She was the parent, the guardian, the one who must preserve, nourish, and celebrate the imagination of children everywhere.
